Event Description:

The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Development Board (“HKMPDB”), in collaboration with Xinde Marine News, successfully hosted the Hong Kong–Shanghai Maritime Connect. Held under the theme "Finance Empowers · Law Safeguards: Maritime Industries of Hong Kong and Shanghai Sailing Together Towards Net Zero”, the event drew an overwhelming response — attracting over 300 maritime industry practitioners, including senior management and key executives from various Chinese Mainland shipping companies. Dr Moses Cheng, HKMPDB Chairman, delivered the opening remarks; Mr Jeffrey Chim, Acting Deputy Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the HKSAR Government, gave the keynote speech; and other delegation members took part in two panel discussions — engaging in depth with Shanghai's industry leaders on how green finance can support shipping's low-carbon transformation, and how high value-added maritime services can help accelerate the development of International Maritime Centre.
