Project Art Container

Exhibition / Carnival

Organised by the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Development Board (HKMPDB), Project Art Container uses art and creativity to bring Hong Kong’s maritime industry closer to the community, offering fresh perspectives on how the industry is connected with the city’s development and everyday life.

As one of the project’s key public engagement programmes, the special exhibition and mini carnival will be held at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (HKMM) in Central, co-organised by HKMM. Centred on the shipping container as its core design concept, the special exhibition transforms this iconic symbol of Hong Kong’s maritime industry into an educational and interactive space. Large-scale container-themed installations will be set up, bringing the main visual of Project Art Container alongside the three winning artworks to life on real 20-foot shipping containers. Through interactive content, the exhibition approaches the theme from dual perspectives of art and maritime, guiding visitors to explore maritime knowledge, industry developments, and diverse career opportunities.

A mini carnival will also take place during the exhibition period, featuring activities suitable for all ages and offering a fun, engaging way for families and the wider public to step into the maritime world and learn more about Hong Kong’s maritime industry and its role as an international maritime centre.
